Chakras are the psycho-spiritual energy centers that are considered as the medium to experience the subtle bodies of human consciousness. These are the main energy centers or energy pools of the Pranamaya Kosha (the energy body) that carry higher qualities in human life. They have unique spiritual qualities and values for an inner journey and the ultimate search for the truth of life.
What is Chakra?
The word chakra means a vortex, a spinning wheel, or a circle that implies the circular movement of energy in the different energy centers or energy pits. Anatomically, they do not exist in our physical body, but can be felt to correspond to a specific area/part of the physical body without having a pinball location. The most important chakras correspond to the positions of the spin and the large nerve ganglia in our physical body. Chakras are pools of energy that balance, store and distribute the energy into various subtle bodies. They are usually used for healing, relaxation, vitality, transformation, and awakening.
